Hang Whiteboard in Cubicles

A whiteboard is very convenient, as you can write plans and instructions on it and then erase them whenever you wish. You can also use a whiteboard to post adhesive-backed removable notes. Depending upon what your cubicle walls are made of and whether you can attach fittings to your whiteboard, you may be able to hang it in your cubicle with Velcro, double-sided tape or special mounting hooks. One reliable way to securely mount a whiteboard to a cubicle wall without making any changes to the wall or board is with C-clamps.

Turn the handle of a C-clamp toward you (counterclockwise) as far as it goes. Cut out a piece of adhesive-backed felt or rubber that is about the size of the ferrule. Remove the backing tape and affix it to the flat surface of the ferrule. Repeat with a second C-clamp.

Hold the whiteboard so that the top of it is flush with the top of your cubicle wall. Choose a sidewall with nothing else mounted to it from the top of the wall to the height of the bottom edge of the whiteboard.

Position the C-clamp at the top of the wall so that the screw handle faces inside your cubicle and the ferrule is about an inch from the top left edge of your whiteboard. Turn the handle clockwise to tighten the screw as much as you can over the whiteboard without forcing it.

Pull down on your whiteboard to see how securely it is attached to the cubicle wall. Prepare a third C-clamp according to the directions in Step 1 if you want a tighter fit and position it so that the handle faces inward and the ferrule is on the side of your wall and about one inch above the bottom of the whiteboard. Turn the handle clockwise to tighten the screw as much as you can over the whiteboard without forcing it.
